Fear and Loathing In The Diaper Pail

O Happy Day of Slinged Arrows of Fortune and Stuff!

Two years ago when we bought this house, our first order of business was to buy a refrigerator, for the purpose of keeping our foodstuffs at a temperature that would hinder spoilage. It's a nice fridge, a stainless steel job with side-by-side storage and an ice maker/dispenser. Even has a little light in the dispenser for late-night stumbles into the kitchen, and a locking mechanism to keep out those meddling kids.

Trouble was, we had no water hookup. Back when this place was built, there were no newfangled devices like water dispensers on refrigerators. You made ice the old fashioned way and kept it in the "icebox". So with no water to the fridge, we, too, have been in touch with our early-American roots, forming ice ourselves by pouring water into "trays" and storing them in the icebox until the water freezes. Truly primitive. Like animals.

Until today. Today Adam finally got around to running a pipe to the fridge. Today I have entered the mid-1980s. Tonight I will enjoy my margarita over CRUSHED ICE.

Boo yah.
